Dobell Drawing Prize – finalist
A work of mine was selected as a finalist in the 2023 Dobell drawing Prize exhibition, one of 64 artists selected from a field of over a thousand entrants. The work is another in the ‘9 figures’ series, this time made on plywood and exploring a restricted palette of 6B graphite background field, bees-waxed black linen thread and bright red aluminium dots. The work references Wassily Kandinsky’s 1926 book ‘Point and Line to Plane’ and continues my exploration of the material line as drawing object.
